Homework Expectations
Reading
Word Work
- Students are expected to read on their own or with an adult for at least twenty minutes each night. Please make sure your child completes the reading log each evening. We will do the same with the books your child reads in class on a different log. This log does not need to be returned unless Mr. Rogers requests to see it.
- Children are expected to practice their addition Math worksheets will be sent home periodically.
- Please check your child's red Lincoln folder daily to see if homework has been assigned.

Word Work
- Students should practice sorting and spelling their differentiated word sort lists throughout each week at home.
- On Monday, it is recommended that students cut and sort their words according to their spelling patterns.
- Throughout the week, there are a variety of suggested activities on the "Word Study Star" orange worksheet for students to engage in for continued practice.
- On Thursday evening, it is recommended that students glue down their words according to the spelling pattern categories.
- In class on Fridays, students will demonstrate knowledge of their weekly word sort by recording an explanation of the sort on Seesaw.
